In Japan, flea markets are held quite often. Organized by various groups, it is held almost every week. In our community, we have two big flea markets every month, and last Sunday was one of them.
We once came to a flea market last February. Because it is held in an open soccer stadium, we could only feel the cold and windy weather without being able to have much fun. Besides, we didn’t get anything from the flea market because we came too late and the good stuff are already sold out.
But this Sunday, we enjoyed the flea market very much. The weather was very nice and sunny, and we were there as the seller! Here is a picture of our booth with Fidens getting ready to brush his marketing skills.
We were trying to prepare the nursery room for our coming baby when we find out that we have tons of items that we can live without. Among them are shoes, books, electronic gadgets, but most of them are clothes which have gone out of size. Both Fidens and I have gained much weight since we got married although we tried to live a healthy live. Hmm.. I wonder why…
The flea market was held from 11 am to 2 pm, but the busiest hour was from 12 to 1 pm. We have many people visiting our booth, asking for explanations on the stuff we sell and also for lower prices. I didn’t move around much, but Fidens was really in into selling. I can see that he enjoyed his time very much. In the end, we weren’t able to sell everything, but we are still satisfied with the result. After the market was over, we spent some time lying on the grass right outside the stadium to have our lunch and enjoy the nice weather.
All in all, joining a flea market was a very fun experience. The money may not worth the time if you are comparing it to a regular job, but you get to experience new things that sometimes money just can’t buy.
